Iron Composer Competition
Hindman took Audience Favorite and Second Place overall in Analog Arts’ Iron Composer Competition, September 3 – 4, 2015 at Baldwin Wallace University, Berea, OH.
Iron Composer is a one-day composition contest that pits five composers against each other, with only five hours to compose a piece of music. The day begins at 9 a.m. with a musical puzzle. The composers are assigned an instrumentation and a secret musical ingredient. They are given a private studio and a box lunch, and they have to use their all of their wits and accumulated skills to complete the challenge in the time allotted. The freshly composed pieces are rehearsed and performed on a public concert at 8 p.m., which is broadcast live on WCLV 104.9 FM and simulcast on www.wclv.com. The first prize is $1000 and the title of “Iron Composer”!
