Tonal Music (2004) follows in the Cageian tradition of intentionally focusing the listener on his or her personal experience of music.  The questions raised in this work, including: What is music?  What is a musical instrument?  What is a musician? and What is an appropriate concert environment? will help the listener challenge their definitions of musical perception, and set the mood for the remainder of our program.
